Week Five

Week Five

I spent two days in the studio this week. Wednesday we talked a lot about touring – where? when? how? It’s a pretty scary, inevitable reality for me . I am quite a homebody you see, and driving in new places freaks me out, not to mention that meeting new people terrifies me. At least when the tour journal starts up, there will be plenty of material for you guys.

Thursday was an Astrocops afternoon. Dave had these bizarre but inspired ideas for percussion sounds lthe night before so that is the first thing we tried to bring to life.

After listening to the recording over the past two weeks, I felt there was something missing still. So, we tried a Taurus pedal to get some deeper bass sounds. I love when I can feel bass in my chest, it acts like a blanket. I had to be home at a certain time that night so we were pressed trying to get a bearable mix ready to listen too up north this week (oh yeah, I am taking a little trip until next Thursday). I am so happy with all the sounds we got a few weeks back but going through them all trying to pick what stays and what goes is very tedious work.

I am looking forward to spending some time in the great North with a great friend, but I am so excited to get back into the studio next week.
