Posters

When I write music, I can see it just as much as hear it. I will sit at the piano, or with my guitar and wait…wait for the music to show itself. This visual/audio relationship is fascinating to me; hence the reason for rounding up several very, very talented people to experiment with this coupling of art forms.

Enter, pOster prOject.

I love posters. Who doesn’t really? Its art for the short of change. Even if I could afford a Matisse, I would still buy a Radiohead poster and place them side by side in my living room. For the pOster prOject, each artist chose a song that spoke to them in some way. And with a list of symbols and several other little inspirational objects, I let them loose. I knew that these artsy folk were pro’s, but nevertheless, I was blown away when the final drafts started to roll in. The From the Outskirts songs came to life in a fascinating new way. From August 24th to September 21st I will be posting a pOster or two a week to celebrate two things: first and foremost ~ the incredible and generous talent that lives within Hamilton and secondly ~ the celebration of the release of From the Outskirts.

The older I get, the deeper my appreciation grows for those who do not abandon their art as they age. I am honoured that these artists brought a visual life to my work all in the name of exploration and friendship. Please take the time to discover them outside of my site ~ follow the links.
